Duty-Free Entry:
Available for used household goods owned for at least 6 months.
Diplomats get full exemption but require approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Customs Inspection:
All shipments may be fully examined by Malaysian Customs.
A 6% service tax applies to logistics services in Malaysia (from April 2024).
Restricted/Prohibited Items:
Alcohol (duties range 150% – 250% of value)
Motor vehicles (subject to high import duties, up to 300%)
Firearms, drugs, and politically sensitive materials are strictly prohibited.
Pets require import permits and certain breeds are banned.
